Apriati Jewellery: Precious Little Luxury

published in: Accessories, 11 Oct 2011

Rarely do I start a post with a personal experience and opinion, but for me Apriati's jewellery is an exception to the rule. I first found out about them through my older cousin who was wearing a little string bracelet that I immediately loved, but I soon forgot about (so many things to buy, you lose track!). Then one day, while I was vacationing in Hydra - a Greek island - I saw on the window display a similar bracelet made of black waxed string, a turquoise stone and a small golden cross. I went into the shop to ask about the designer, and Apriati came up. Needless to say that I bought it. Ever since, I became a regular customer as I am a huge fan of their minimalistic approach to everyday luxury.

Behind the Apriati jewellery brand, are two young Greek designers, Athina Axioti and Themis Bobolas, both educated in Italy. The brand's name comes from the ancient Greek word that means strong desire for having beautiful possessions.

Their distinctive and innovative designs are the outcome of their inspiration, derived mainly from the arts and crafts of ancient Greek history and mythology, combined with the personal experiences and feelings they have embraced from their travels around the world. And that’s exactly where their “secret lies”.

The trademark of their unique and fascinating designs is a new approach to luxury, which is worn in a casual way. Gold, diamonds and other precious stones are complemented with “hip trend” material for an unusual and uplifting result.

The concept behind each piece and its perfect craftsmanship, is fast being discovered by people over the world, (see Paris Vogue's June/July 2011 issue) with Apriati designs now being sold in countries across the globe. Their boutiques can be found in Athens, Mykonos and Paris.

If you also enjoy handmade jewellery, with a luxurious, romantic and easy to wear touch, then look no further.
